This section explains the maintenance of common gym equipment.

The treadmill is a fitness device that simulates running and walking exercises. Running and walking are full-body aerobic metabolic exercises. The treadmill is powered by an electric source that drives rollers to move the rubber belt. When a person runs, the rubber belt moves, and adjusting the speed of the rubber belt can change the exercise load.

  1. Regular maintenance of the treadmill

  1. Clean the display screen and the entire main unit box daily with a neutral detergent and water. Do not use ammonia or acidic detergents. It is recommended to use a non-abrasive soft cotton cloth. Apply the detergent to the cloth to clean the equipment, and do not apply the detergent directly to any part of the equipment.

  2. Check the emergency stop system operation once a day.

  3. Check the belt for any misalignment daily.

  4. Check the fasteners of the equipment for looseness daily.

  5. Vacuum around the belt weekly to prevent debris accumulation.

  6. Check the bottom space of the machine for dust monthly, and apply silicone oil (under the running belt) every 1-2 months.

  7. Regularly check for external wear, especially on the belt and pedals. The treadmill should run for more than an hour daily to reduce the likelihood of motor dampness.

The maintenance method for the wax on the running board is to perform oil maintenance with silicone-based lubricant every 33 to 360 months.

  2. Maintenance of the elliptical machine

The multifunctional fitness device is a type of equipment that follows a regular elliptical motion trajectory. It is an effective full-body aerobic metabolic exercise. For those who engage in long-term aerobic exercise, it has a small impact on the lower limb joints and minimal negative effects on the body.

  1. Clean the dirt and sweat from the surface of the pedals and the display screen daily.

  2. Clean the display screen and the entire main unit box with a neutral detergent and water daily. Do not use ammonia or acidic detergents. It is recommended to use a non-abrasive soft cotton cloth. Apply the detergent to the cloth to clean the equipment, and do not apply the detergent directly to any part of the equipment.

  3. Clean the supports and movable handrails daily.

  3. Maintenance of strength equipment

  1. Check if the wires are broken, if the screws of each component of the instrument are loose, and if there is any shaking or instability in the components. If found, lock it immediately. If it cannot be resolved, notify the manufacturer for handling.

  2. Pay attention to any abnormal sounds during use. If detected, stop using it immediately to prevent further damage and notify the manufacturer for inspection and handling.

  3. After use, clean the exterior of the machine with a slightly damp cloth, especially carefully wipe off any sweat. If conditions allow, wipe the rods and then apply water-based wax to various parts of the machine to prevent paint peeling and rust. Use water-based wax at least once a week on the weight guide rails and sliding rails.

This concludes the introduction to the maintenance of fitness equipment. Thank you for watching, and see you in the next issue.
